HUGHESVILLE RESIDENT KILLED IN CYCLE CRASH
Danny Wayne Kisner, 26, of 108 South Broad Street, Hughesville, was killed yesterday when the motorcycle on which he was a passenger crashed on Routes 41140 and 41065 in Muncy Creek Twp. about 4:45 p.m.
State police said Kisner and the operator of the cycle, Clifford R. Feigles, 33, of Muncy, were thrown about 15 feet after they struck an embankment.
Kisner landed in an open field and Feigles, who was reported in satisfactory condition in Williamsport Hospital, landed in the middle of the roadway, police said.
Feigles apparently lost control of the cycle as he was rounding a curve, police said.
Clarkstown and Muncy rescue crews responded to the scene. Neither police nor fire officials could say if the two men were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
Kisner died in the Muncy Valley Hospital emergency room at 6:50 p.m., according to George W. Gedon, county coroner. Death was caused by massive chest injuries, Gedon added.
Feigles underwent treatment at Muncy Valley Hospital before being transferred to the city hospital.
Kisner is the 10th traffic fatality in the county this year.
Born at Danville on August 7, 1956, he was the son of Paul E. and Carlotte E. Potter Kisner.
